The São Paulo rock band Andeor is releasing its debut album, Contravento, with thirteen tracks. The quartet, comprised of Guilherme Schildberg, Lucas de Sá, Lennon Fernandes, and Giovanna Vecchi, is sponsored by Duda Machado, drummer for the band Pitty, who produced the album. Mastered by Homero Lotito, Contravento features musician Marcus Santurys, who overlays the track "Lua" with the sound of an Indian sitar. A string quartet also participates in the songs "Vontade," " Efeito-Dunning Kruger," "Nós," "Desanimado," "I Know," "Moon," and "Abrigo II." In 2013, the band plans to release music videos for two tracks from their debut album, Contravento: "Fuga" and "Simples," chosen as promotional singles.
At their shows, their influences remain evident in their melodies, lyrics, and attitude. Bands like Led Zeppelin, Queen, the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones, as well as more recent acts like Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, System of a Down, and Silverchair, are among their influences. They also include Brazilian groups like Gram and Los Hermanos, as well as major MPB names like Tom Jobim and Clube da Esquina – a collaboration between Milton Nascimento and Lô Borges.
The band has performed at venues such as Galeria Olido, Outs, Manifesto, Casa Fora do Eixo, Feira Moderna, and Hangar 110.
